This is a terrible stud finder. Spend twice as much and get a decent one. The finder seemingly never calibrates and thus is useless. I feel like there should be a zero star option for products such as this. On the bright side, I have a bunch of holes in my wall.

I didn't buy this on Amazon, but rather the identical product at a local store. Anyway, it flat out will not work on thicker or textured drywall. Even on normal thickness, flat, and unpainted drywall, it will give random readings, completely miss some studs, or show a stud being at least 6 inches wide, when it is actually about 1.5 inches wide. Don't waste your money on this device. As I found out, you get what you pay for when buying stud sensors.

This is a completely unreliable piece of junk. The Red stays on regardless of where the unit is placed along the plaster board. Sometimes it goes out but mostly it doesn't. A new Energizer battery doesn't help. This Stud Finder keeps missing, and missing, and missing.
